Hunk obviously thinks Shiro is great and awesome, what with Team Voltron Icebreakers and all that. But Hunk often tries to restrain the worst of his negative (see: non-crying) emotions until he's alone, so he feels horrible about how he kinda unloaded some real uncomfortable negative emotions on Shiro who, well, didn't deserve that??? It was an awk situation when they realized their canon points, and Hunk knows (logically) it'll be fine, but (emotionally) he's still anxious about it.

And it's also really uncomfortable for him to see the interplay in how they handle boundaries. Hunk wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't really keep a lot of secrets, but Shiro's secretly writing a self-destructive strategy guide. Hunk's gonna cry a lot more because of Shiro and he knows it, but the goofus doesn't know what the consequences of those tears are gonna be. But he wants Shiro to tell him things anyway, because it's his job!!

If Shiro opens up about any of the Year of Suffering, Hunk's probably gonna hug him so hard his back breaks.

It kills me how these two handle themselves. Shiro tries to keep everyone safe and keeps his own stuff from causing issues. Hunk keeps his stuff semi-wrapped up but stress brings it out. He definitely won't let Hunk know about his uh. Little black book.

He's glad Hunk opened up to him and let him know so much? It lets him help somehow. Feels way less like he has no power to aid him. Even if his way of preparing is to do something that would be really upsetting if known about.
