honestly he sucks at sneaking so more likely he'll grab something and not ask until he notices you looking (he used to have manners once upon a time)

that does sound like something they'd do...make all the kaomoji! cover your texts in glitter! discover weird fonts and mess around until the things you write are nearly unreadable!! being yue, he'd be too lazy to use that stuff regularly, but it'd still be fun, for sure.
