Okuyasu has placed Makoto on the positive side of neutral, mostly helped with that fight. If there's one way for Okuyasu to gain respect for someone, it's for them to hold themselves in a fight, and since this wasn't a duel to the death, he didn't start out thinking negatively of her.

So with fight + not hating = friendship?, he wants to hang out with her more often since he moved on from "mistrust everyone" stage after the sparring session. At the party, he feels a bit bad for spoiling the surprise planning but she's proven that she is in fact cool.
