The Unfinished Threads / Handwaved CR Meme



This is a sad thing that happens, but sometimes threads aren't finished due to lack of time, real life restraints or new things happening in the game. other times we'd like for things to happen, but they don't for this very reason. This meme is there so you can approach people with whom you had threads that never concluded and reach a resolution! Likewise, you can use this meme as a way to handwave certain interactions between your characters, as doubtlessly some of them meet far more regularly than they thread.

Cut Threads: No plans on stopping.
Handwaved CR: Everyday stuff, the sort that lets S'reee know roughly what a person is like to strangers. Also casual first meetings: S'reee is distinctive enough that she gets noticed, even being a size that can fit in rooms. She does have some interest in other people's worlds, and will talk about her own.

Handwaved CR: Anything really, if you want to plan out what could/would have happened at the intro as well, I'm down for that since I dropped those for now.

Cut Threads: A few from early game had to be cut for various reasons, aside from that I plan to keep tagging as long as you wish to.
Handwaved CR: She pretty much lives exclusively in Curti Center compared to the other workers, so feel free to assume seeing her or making small talk.

Cut Threads: Generally speaking once a thread starts getting 1.5-2 months old it's more likely to get lost. Exceptions include threads that are proving to me more influential on her character development and mindset and such, also group threads.

Also last month I ended up losing track of a lot more threads than I usually do I think due to a very inconsistent schedule at work and inconsistent energy levels outside it, so if there's anything you want to keep going on or figure out a resolution to, let me know.
Handwaved CR: This one is a bit trickier because tbh Futaba is a hermit half the time who is a lot more social on the Mognet than she ever is offline. However, you can probably have seen her around the Curti Center, usually for food, and sometimes for the library. She also heads from her own house (B-14) to Ren Amamiya's (B-02) and back a lot.

Cut Threads: Intro threads, most network threads that are more than a week and a half old. If there's a thread you'd like to continue, hit me up and I'll see what I can do.
Handwaved CR: Since Ka'Pandol flooded, Gi's been temporarily living in the Curti Center while he tries to make his apartment there livable again, i.e. not covered in several inches of stale seawater and algae. So you're likely to see him in either place when he's not being wrangled into working.

Cut Threads: I usually keep on tagging, though I'm fine with older / non-essential threads being let go. If a thread is hard or other factors rise up, I'll try to communicate so that all involved know where something goes.
Handwaved CR: I'm usually okay with both playing out and handwaving ... just about anything, so long as everyone involved is on the same page. Usually key CR moments are best played out, or at least meta played out, but I can roll with stuff. SoL things? Easier handwaved, but sometimes they are so sweet.

Cut Threads: I usually try to keep threads going, but if I have a lot from 2+ months back I may start dropping them. That said, I don't mind going back to stuff that's several months old if it's significant and/or you don't mind my slow replies.
Handwaved CR: Uendo is usually up for small talk and dumb jokes whenever he's out and has been starting to do short rakugo routines in any venues that let him perform. Feel free to assume your character's seen him around and maybe made some idle chatter with him.

How would Uendo be helping around the house? Okuyasu would teach him how to look after Stray Cat when he was at school and do some chores around the house, but he generally is unsure of how to feel about having an adult trying to be a responsible caretaker, so there'll be some confusion on his part.

Uendo used to do chores for a strict 70-year-old master, so he'd be pretty meticulous about doing cleaning and laundry regularly. Everything gets ironed and neatly folded. And he'd definitely cook sometimes too. At the very least he makes sure there's always something to eat in the fridge, and everyone gets their favored blend of tea/coffee/beverage of choice served each day.

Speaking of Stray Cat, what does taking care of it involve? Does it need to be watered?

It eats cat food and hates being watered. It's just a cat that looks like a flower, I guess. And it'd need something to play with but mostly takes naps.

All of that work being done would be overwhelming for Okuyasu, so he's going to get a strong attachment towards Uendo and express how surprised he is a this arrangement. Do you want to thread it out in the thread we currently have or handwave it here?

You know, I was pondering whether Stray Cat with its animal(?) instincts would be able to tell when they switch. Like, maybe it could pick up on the changes in body language and voice and respond to each of them differently? I dunno, I'm just entertained by the idea of it hating Patches but having a kind of grudging respect for Kisegawa. And just totally ignoring Uendo.

Let's thread it out! I didn't have anything specific in mind for that thread, so this will work nicely.

That would be amazing, and Okuyasu would attribute it to cats being moody. Okuyasu likes this adult whether he's calm and helpful, joking around, or strict and telling him to go study.

Handwaved CR: I am totally fine handwaving our characters knowing each other somehow (ie, hey they probably chatted in the cafeteria a few times, or they definitely know each other because xyz). Or anything else, really! She really stands out so feel free to have seen her around.

Cut Threads: I’m guilty of having dropped a fair couple of early threads due to feeling extremely stressed out last month - I left them sit for a while too long. I’m otherwise fine with backtagging for months, since due to work and timezones I’m p much incapable of boomerangs, anyway. I do plan to keep responding to the AMA post, by the way!
Handwaved CR: Since he works at Curti, please feel free to assume our characters have exchanged introductions! They don’t have to know anything about each other beyond that point, but he’s likely to keep tabs on the otherworlders simply because it’s a part of his job. That being said, he’s at the Center half of the time, but can often be found wandering around Arito (Chemist Guild, university) and Nakagawa (Chocobos!!), sooo... you know the drill.

Handwaved CR: Monika is very active by the Curti Center, at the Necromancer guild. She was in last event too but didn't participate much outside of the battle. Basically happy to handwave anything so long as it's not crucial CR.

Hrmmm. How do you think Monika's memory thread with Pap woulda wrapped up? Just curious how it'd influence their CR going forward and such.

I think it probably ended with a loop. I doubt he'd have managed to snap her out of it, but likewise she couldn't have brought herself to delete him. Prior to the loop she would probably have started breaking down or crying because his being a skeleton pretty much undoes everything she knew about the player's reality and adds a level of terror to her existential crisis.

I just wonder if it'd be best to wait for another post to throw him at him, since I know her post-memory log's a few weeks old now. Am pretty flexible, but good lord. Crying. Poor girl.

I guess they'll probably met at the event! It'd make sense they may not have crossed path till then, especially since she deals with things one step at a time. There's also the Lit Club upcoming, she hopes he'll be there.

Actually if Dylas ever look into it with the hopes of finding a remedy to his, er, unusual appetite, she'll be more than happy to give a hand. Not literally, mind you.

Whenever he gets found out, she's probably on the shortlist for who he and Yue might ask for help with tbh.

But we'll see how that unfolds, it sort of depends on how long the mods let him be a murderer.

Cut Threads: Honestly, I try to keep up with my threads where possible. Sometimes I just lose track.
Handwaved CR: I'm pretty flexible? Pap's a pretty social guy and has probably been out and about, trying to mingle as well as find optimal puzzle spots around the center.

Cut Threads: I try not to drop threads except by accident, so feel free to poke. If you want to drop things, that's cool, though.
Handwaved CR: Zel can be pretty misanthropic, so if your character is the sort to make a Big Deal about Zel's appearance when he doesn't know you, he will remember and (try to) avoid you. Yes, even if it is positive. Give me a heads-up! Other than that, every day 'I know that person' interactions are fine.

Cut Threads: Selphie's Memory Event thread. It just stayed dark for quite a bit and well... she won't dwell on that subject at hand for
too long. I'll keep tagging into the other memory threads that I'm participating in though because they're not finished! Chocobo Eater Thread. It's already resolved anyway so Vax and Selphie are just shooting the shit.

Handwaved CR: Curti Centre Household Shenanigans because you know that there were shenanigans. Otherwise, people are more than happy to say that they've seen the short girl with the strange hairstyle wandering around the Curti Centre island just doing whatever she felt like.

Additional Comment: I'm always open to CR even if I don't write very interesting posts. ^.^
