A. RETRIEVAL Dreams fade slowly, and awareness returns in increments. The hum of machinery, the smell of recycled air, the murmurs of others waking up around you. The interior of the ship has been outfitted with cots for those Biggs and Wedge retrieve from the Dream Width. Outside of the makeshift infirmary, windows set into the walls of the worn lounge area offer a view of space. It’s time to meet your fellow new arrivals who have been brought together on Biggs and Wedge’s airship. None of you know how you came to be here or where you are going, and the door to the cockpit is locked as the pilots focus on navigating the treacherous obstacles of the Dream Width. You might as well take this moment to introduce yourself to your fellow travelers. B. CURTI CENTER There’s an almost overwhelming aura of excitement in the tower as researchers rush to document this unprecedented number of interdimensional travelers. Over the commotion, the leaders of the Center struggle to explain, ‘Welcome to Vaikuntha. We don’t know why you’ve been brought here, but this is your new home.’ The staff will do their best to help the off-worlders settle in. They answer the questions they can, provide maps and pamphlets about the world and the destinations within it, and even guide the arrivals to a neighborhood where housing has been provided for you. Yes, due to the strange influx of arrivals, you’ll be expected to share, but the Curti staff are doing the best they can under the circumstances. Experiences like these bring people together. Perhaps you are the only one here from your world, but at least you are not alone in this experience. Others are right beside you, learning the same information, planning trips to visit the same new cities, checking out these Job things, and settling in to their new (temporary) homes. C. UP IN THE SKY There’s a whole new world to explore. It’s almost enough to distract from the fact that there’s one place you can’t go- home. You are on an Airship, the main mode of transportation between the major cities of Vaikuntha. While the majority are owned by airlines, perhaps you hitched a ride with a friend that has their own. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness. D. GUILDS Proud representatives of the Guild are lined up, ready to demonstrate their skills for the new initiates. Make sure to stay behind the designated line, this might get dangerous. So you want a new Job? You'll have to first travel to the Guilds, sign the papers, go through the orientation and introductory lectures, and get basic training. Afterwards, you can freely chat and practice with your fellow members, celebrating your new powers, and checking out your new wardrobe. E. LET'S BE ADVENTURERS Separated from all of your material possessions, connections, and everything you know, and really, what you’re left with is time. Better try to make the most of it. Enough expository banter. It's explorin' time. Maybe instead of spending every day in your room, you'd rather spend it living it up in the city of Lavode, or betting on Chocobo Races in Sparks Goldsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the caves and ruins near Arito. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere! F. SIDEQUESTS Maybe you’re telling yourself, ‘I didn’t sign up for this.’ But wait, you did. At least it pays. It all started when you checked the Quest Board.  All you wanted was a few gil to spend, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or you could be asked to be janitor for a week. Consider yourself lucky though, at least you don't have to do that alone. G. GET A JOB (THE OTHER KIND) You’ve got a Job, but Claire keeps sighing and muttering about layabout space-people not earning their keep, so it might be time to seek out Employment as well. There are plenty of opportunities to earn some gil in Vaikuntha, no matter where you choose to settle down. Your iMog slate includes listing for employment opportunities. Hopefully you can find something you can live with so that you can start saving up for an airship or the security payment for your permanent housing. H. MOGNET *Ding!* You’ve got Mog-Mail! Thankfully, you can instantaneously chat with your friends around the world thanks to you iMog Slate. And unlike old-fashioned Moogle Letters, you can even send messages to everyone in a blink of an eye! However, despite the change in technology, the old tradition of Mognet Strikes have never gone away. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public boards or risk message corruption and mishandling. I. RANDOM ENCOUNTER The ground trembles, and out of nowhere, something hostile appears! Is that battle music playing? You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Will you try to fight on your own or seek help? And remember, you die in random battle, you die FOR REAL. There’s no shame from running from enemies that are a higher level than you! J. WILD CARD Feeling inspired to create your own prompt? The power is yours!

[She observes him set the helmet and handle the U shaped item. Is he....some sort of astronaut? Like Momota? Because that would be really cool! But before she asks about that, he mentions the cooking.]

Oh uh.......I can't either, now that you mention it. [And there's an awkward laugh at that.] I mean, I've never tried either. I wasn't allowed to, since I play the piano and I was told my fingers might get hurt. That could be a problem....

Only a bit. [He gestures to the city beyond the door.] We might get lucky and have roommates we can pay for the ingredients they use. Even if we don’t...there’s a whole world out there.

It will be weird but, still food.

[It’s a funny topic and he smiles a bit brighter, shoving down all the things he’ll deal with later to the back of his mind.]

I smelled something that might be interesting around the corner on the way here.

You're right! And even if we don't get roommates, I'm sure we can learn somehow. [Like making friends who can teach them, possibly.]

Now that you mention that though, I am a little hungry. Why don't we take a look? Unless you're not hungry?

I could eat. Give me ten minutes to change and get a shower. [He can get out of his armor and strap the Bayard to his belt. It will lessen his chances of running into his fellow Paladins. But only by a little. His street clothes are still obvious.]

I won’t be long. [He slips into his bathroom and shuts the door. True to his word in ten minutes he emerges armor under his arm and hair damp.]

I can track right back to where it was. Ready to go?

Sure thing! I'll wait for you! [She really needs to ask about that armour but in the meantime, she'll happily look at the maps and pamphlets. It's a very weird situation she's in. Them? RPG-like heroes? Kaede does not really see herself as that. Piano is the only thing she's good at. However, that does not mean she cannot help the other arrivals in this place or help the natives here either. Maybe she can learn and handle it...

Soon, Shiro comes out and she jumps off the bed.] Yup! Ready as ever. So off we go?

[And she starts to head towards the door.]

By the way, I was just wondering. Are you a space pilot? I think that armour you were wearing looks really cool!

That’s right. Technically fighter pilot but space is part of that. [He sets his armor by the nightstand and turns back to her. At a thought he snags his Bayard and clips it to his belt. It won’t work but having it on him feels vital. He had taken it from Zarkon. Losing it here would be a waste.]

Let’s go. [Shiro joins her at the door and holds it open for her to proceed through.]

I was trained for it. The armor came later. And you? What do you usually do? You look like a student.

Wow, that is pretty exciting! A lot like Momota-kun! Well, without the fighting part. [And Momota hasn't been into space yet but technicalities!

And she follows.] Thanks!

Ahahaha yeah. I haven't left high school yet. I haven't done anything adventurous like go into space. [She could talk about being trapped in a school by a bloodthirsty murderbear but let's not go into that!] I am really good at playing the piano, though!

Give it time, you never know what the future holds. [She's still in school and got trapped here. It's better than it could be, he thinks as he leads her towards the staircase leading down to street level.]

And you're doing something just as adventurous as going to space right now. You're in an entirely different world.

Hmmm.....[She thinks for a moment.] Heheheheh. You have a point there. I am in another world. [And it's pretty cool to think about! Even though she's worried about the others back in that awful school. Even though it might be temporary, she still managed to get out when they did not.

And her aim once she gets back is to help them all escape. Then maybe she can do something as adventurous as going into space. Maybe Momota might take everyone up? Who knows.]

A music venue? Well, they probably do! I was told I had the bard asterisk and I need to go to the corresponding guild to unlock that. [She hasn't tried it out but hopefully that might involve her playing the piano in some form.] So maybe they do have a music venue there? [She hopes so anyway.]

I would imagine it's pretty important for bards to have access to musical instruments. You have the mog slate, that should tell you what skills you'll learn as a bard. [He pulls out his slate while carefully stepping out onto the street.

Shiro taps the job icon.] But if they told you about the bard job...you probably don't have it yet. It was just a recommendation or a misunderstanding. We all choose our jobs from own free will.

[They're freelancers right now. He noticed a subtle change in his hair that bothered him since he saw it. It's the subtlest cowlick since his hair is short. But. Still there.]

Oh....uh....right. Ahahahaha. [Welp she talked to one of the other guests. Maybe he interpreted it wrong too. ]

Well, no matter. I'll certainly check it out! As long as I get to play the piano and there's a music venue! [Not that other instruments would not be fun to play. It would be weird for her being a bard and not finding a way to play somehow though.] .....I guess if they don't though, I could always find a way to buy one for the apartment! If that's okay with you and the others though. [And that could be fun! She could give everyone lessons or play uplifting tunes in the apartment like Gran Valse Brilliante by Chopin!]
