TEST DRIVE MEME

A. RETRIEVAL

Dreams fade slowly, and awareness returns in increments. The hum of machinery, the smell of recycled air, the murmurs of others waking up around you.

The interior of the ship has been outfitted with cots for those Biggs and Wedge retrieve from the Dream Width. Outside of the makeshift infirmary, windows set into the walls of the worn lounge area offer a view of space.

It’s time to meet your fellow new arrivals who have been brought together on Biggs and Wedge’s airship. None of you know how you came to be here or where you are going, and the door to the cockpit is locked as the pilots focus on navigating the treacherous obstacles of the Dream Width. You might as well take this moment to introduce yourself to your fellow travelers.

B. CURTI CENTER

There’s an almost overwhelming aura of excitement in the tower as researchers rush to document this unprecedented number of interdimensional travelers. Over the commotion, the leaders of the Center struggle to explain, ‘Welcome to Vaikuntha. We don’t know why you’ve been brought here, but this is your new home.’

The staff will do their best to help the off-worlders settle in. They answer the questions they can, provide maps and pamphlets about the world and the destinations within it, and even guide the arrivals to a neighborhood where housing has been provided for you. Yes, due to the strange influx of arrivals, you’ll be expected to share, but the Curti staff are doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Experiences like these bring people together. Perhaps you are the only one here from your world, but at least you are not alone in this experience. Others are right beside you, learning the same information, planning trips to visit the same new cities, checking out these Job things, and settling in to their new (temporary) homes.

C. UP IN THE SKY

There’s a whole new world to explore. It’s almost enough to distract from the fact that there’s one place you can’t go- home.

You are on an Airship, the main mode of transportation between the major cities of Vaikuntha. While the majority are owned by airlines, perhaps you hitched a ride with a friend that has their own. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

D. GUILDS

Proud representatives of the Guild are lined up, ready to demonstrate their skills for the new initiates. Make sure to stay behind the designated line, this might get dangerous.

So you want a new Job? You'll have to first travel to the Guilds, sign the papers, go through the orientation and introductory lectures, and get basic training. Afterwards, you can freely chat and practice with your fellow members, celebrating your new powers, and checking out your new wardrobe.

E. LET'S BE ADVENTURERS

Separated from all of your material possessions, connections, and everything you know, and really, what you’re left with is time. Better try to make the most of it.

Enough expository banter. It's explorin' time. Maybe instead of spending every day in your room, you'd rather spend it living it up in the city of Lavode, or betting on Chocobo Races in Sparks Goldsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the caves and ruins near Arito. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!

F. SIDEQUESTS

Maybe you’re telling yourself, ‘I didn’t sign up for this.’ But wait, you did. At least it pays.

It all started when you checked the Quest Board.  All you wanted was a few gil to spend, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or you could be asked to be janitor for a week. Consider yourself lucky though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

G. GET A JOB (THE OTHER KIND)

You’ve got a Job, but Claire keeps sighing and muttering about layabout space-people not earning their keep, so it might be time to seek out Employment as well.

There are plenty of opportunities to earn some gil in Vaikuntha, no matter where you choose to settle down. Your iMog slate includes listing for employment opportunities. Hopefully you can find something you can live with so that you can start saving up for an airship or the security payment for your permanent housing.

H. MOGNET

*Ding!* You’ve got Mog-Mail!

Thankfully, you can instantaneously chat with your friends around the world thanks to you iMog Slate. And unlike old-fashioned Moogle Letters, you can even send messages to everyone in a blink of an eye! However, despite the change in technology, the old tradition of Mognet Strikes have never gone away. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public boards or risk message corruption and mishandling.

I. RANDOM ENCOUNTER

The ground trembles, and out of nowhere, something hostile appears! Is that battle music playing?

You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Will you try to fight on your own or seek help? And remember, you die in random battle, you die FOR REAL. There’s no shame from running from enemies that are a higher level than you!

chefbayardee: (happy)

tbh nobody can prepare for Gourmands

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-22 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ He braces himself at the pause, half expecting a reprimand because that's insane, but... Shiro seems okay with it, so it's easier for him to be okay with it... ]

This world is... like a video game. Aside from eating people with a giant fork.

[ A dash of whimsy overtook the awkwardness of the Gourmand as a concept, and he starts to bounce up and down on the balls of his feet like an excited child. ]

There's swords and armor and magic and... monsters. And we can still help people here!

[ He stops himself, chuckles, and realizes that not only is Shiro a bit older, but he's a dedicated soldier who's been... busy. ]

Wait, have you even played a video game?
spaceforged: (Hunk why)

Maybe zombies, maybe.

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-22 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
...yes? Who hasn't? It's been a few years but I still remember them.

[He looks slightly offended and crosses his arms over his chest. He winces and corrects his arm placement so he doesn't stick himself with one of the spikes on his chest plate.]

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact one form of a job is basically eating your way to victory. It's like one of those really old video games.

[Pacman. If Hunk turns yellow and 8-bit music plays he's out. Okay. One breath out. He's good enough to keep rolling on past that. They can revisit it when the concept breaks another Paladin's brain.]

Anyway. Not only can we help people here but the guilds are a good place to get used to new skills and meet allies. ...and I'd really like to get another look at those airships. I want to know more about them. Especially since they can be self contained.
chefbayardee: (clever)

Nobody's ready, Gourmands are like pineapples, adventurers that eat you back!

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-22 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[ Hunk just waits and listens as Shiro speaks, though he rolls his eyes at the mention of old school gaming- that's more Lance's wheelhouse. But he also winces at the adjustment in light of all the armor spikes. An apron doesn't seem so bad now. ]

Yeah those airships are... pretty cool. They run on magic apparently!

[ He laughs, and quite mirthfully, throwing his hands into the air. ]

The weird technical stuff for Magitek Knight was cool, but I picked it up so I could get the drop on how their technology works. Flying an airship is one thing, but I'd rather know how to fix one, maybe repurpose the tech somehow!

[ He takes steps towards his gunblade, yanking it back up into his hands as he adjusted the elemental firing chambers. ]

This thing looks like it hurts more than a knife, too-

[ And then he accidentally launches a blast of water into the air, eyes widening like dinner plates as it disappears into the distance. Gunblades are so fiddly! ]

Oops.
spaceforged: (eternal heatstroke)

A literal vote mage!

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-22 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Shiro jerks at the sound. His eyes track to the gunblade and he takes a careful step to the side to retrieve his spear. He slides it into the space against the back of his armor. Just in case, he reclaims his helmet. If another shot goes wild he can put it back on.]

...well. If anyone can figure out how this tech works it’s you. [And the mirth fades again as he thinks about ships that run on magic. His thoughts roll right back to Voltron and the lions. And the battle that felt a bit like a last.] Maybe we can use it to find out if the Lions are here too. I was in it before I woke up on that cot.

I have my Bayard. But I don’t know where the Black Lion is. Either they’re back home and empty...or somewhere in this world.
chefbayardee: (discomfort)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-23 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I... don't have my Bayard. [ He sighs, unable to even look at Shiro as he says it. Sure, Shiro manifested his Bayard out of nowhere once, but that seems... different. ]

But... the Lions can kinda do their own thing. Roar, change their pilots, stuff like that. So if the Lions are here, they'll know we are too and they'll track us down! ...Right?

[ He thinks back to their last moments on Earth, how he made a Geiger counter to track down the Blue Lion, and... how they have a whole new world to explore, like it or not. If their Lions are here, they'd have no idea where to look. But he can't say that, not out loud, because this is already grim. ]

We've pulled off tons of missions on foot. Without the Lions. This'll be a snap!

[ He does not believe that for a second. ]
spaceforged: (More talking)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-23 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
It won’t be easy. But you’re right, we’ve been on foot before and that never stopped us from being successful. Together we can find out if the lions are here or not. Don’t worry too much about your Bayard being missing. It might be trapped inside your armor.

Whichever it is, [Change Pilots? He leaves that detail alone for now. It could just be mentioning the swap from old Paladins to the present set up.]

We’ll find out. For now, narrowing our focus to just learning this world and what we can do is hard enough. There is a lot of maps and books to study. I’ve been reading over maps any chance I get and I still haven’t been able to fully understand what they’re telling me.

[It’s so strange and different from anywhere else he has had no idea how to make it stick in his head. His expression is rather thoughtful.]

...technically we won’t have to do it on foot. There’s ‘bird rental’? Or airship to anything too far.
Edited 2018-03-23 06:03 (UTC)
chefbayardee: (confused)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-23 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I was actually doing some research, and airships are cool. Even the huge ones can have weapons, isn't that crazy?

[ He throws his hands into the air like an excited child. Like a kid in a toy store, he contemplates asking if they can invest in one... only to remember they don't have much money. Or jobs. Or plans to stay longer than they have to. Maybe they can borrow one? ]

The Dream Width is apparently dangerous, but I gotta wonder how often they use those weapons otherwise. Nobody makes airships sound like they're in danger.

[ Hunk looks back at the ground. These people are used to weird monsters and magic like fireballs, they might just have another definition of safe. ]

Oh, and I heard the birds are called chocobos. They're like horses, but they smell funny- but not durian funny, where it's gross. Some people didn't mind it though.

[ He perks up again, struggling to deny the appeal of befriending his own Horse Bird. ]
spaceforged: (Working together at last.)

Belatedly see my autocorrect refused to write vore mage. Rude.

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-24 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I haven’t been around them yet so i couldn’t tell you anything about the smell. If you want to take a look at them I’ll go with you. I’m curious to see these birds for myself.

[He pauses and looks down at his armor.] Once I swap jobs. But it sounds like we should do a lot more looking into airships. We can build up funds towards owning our own ship.

That would be more than useful for working with other adventurers or if we get any hint of where the others are. [Try as he might he can’t get the spark out of his own eyes. The idea of flying something new and charting new skies is like just being a exploration pilot again.]

Just something to think about. If we are here a while having the resources to help would be a good idea.
chefbayardee: (clever)

No worries, I picked up on what your auto-correct failed to set down!

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-24 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Really?! An airship of our own?!

[ Hunk almost jumps out of his skin with Shiro's flat-out statement that they should get an airship. Because he wants an airship. Well, to fix an airship and to know how it works and maybe to fire some laser cannons, but... that's basically the same thing! ]

They're really expensive though. [ He checked. Oh boy, did he check. ] We could run through the wilderness Paladinning for people, or even get, [ He scoffs. ] normal jobs, but...

That'll take time. [ He grins ear to ear, the siren call of airship engines tugging at his heartstrings, especially if he's as completely removed from Voltron and the Galra as it seems. ] You're still the leader, so how much of a long haul should I plan for?
spaceforged: (yep this is a new low)

Excellent, I figured but wanted that joke to be clear.

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-24 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[That sends his mind spinning out into tactics and over what information he's been able to get his hands on. ...and what allies he's made. Shiro's brows come down. Those jokes are terrible, by the way.]

At least a few years, [He pulls himself out of deep thought and nods once.] Just in case.

If we get to return sooner than that we'll have prepared for the worst. And having some long term goals will help us stay oriented no matter what happens while we're here.

[Boy does he need some kind of goal that's far off to ground him. Or his mind will race off grabbing all the scenarios it can run through of what's going on back home and where the lions are. He crushes the worries before they can do more than be shapeless ideas with a sigh.]

We could think of it as a bit of rest break. New world and new ideas. [At that he relaxes completely with a tired laugh and a grin of his own. Actual cities to settle into. Day to day life. All things he has almost forgot how to do.]

Still...a normal job. I haven't had one of those in a long time. [Being a Garrison Pilot was far from normal.] This is going to take a lot of getting used to.
chefbayardee: (happy)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-24 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Hunk is on board for a vacation, especially one that could be a few years. Sure, Voltron and saving the universe is important, but he's gathered through his own conversations that space and time have been warped, so... as much as he wants to believe otherwise, there's no point worrying about afterwards until it happens. Unless they can crack the universe and go home. ]

Do... do you want a normal job? [ He stares at Shiro for a moment, as if he had three heads. ] I figured you'd just join up with some military and fly their airships better than they can! But this is sort of a vacation.

For me, I think just getting away from the war and the Galra for a bit will be enough. I want to keep helping people. [ It's his favorite part of what they do, the smiles on people's faces, and the less deadly parts of adventuring. ] And since I can keep doing that with foodie fu... [ He smiles, and then breaks into a light chuckle. ]

But why are there always monsters? Every time we go anywhere, something wants to kill us.
spaceforged: seriously I'll just go totally crazy (Yeah we're working on it)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-25 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
[He laughs again and holds up his hands.] Balance, maybe? And no, I don't want a normal job. It's just the fact it's even an option is a shock.

I want to continue our work. [It's what he does best. He thinks over the idea of a military job again and adds in a thoughtful tone of voice.] As an independent force. Miltary means loyalty to a cause I might not always agree with.

We have to make tough choices at times but the responsibilities and the decisions are always on us. [Not on someone further up the chain or further down it. Maybe he prefers his hands on the controls a bit too much to give it up easily. He won't examine that right now.]

I like working with our team and the idea of gathering allies for the cause of bettering the world instead of fighting a war....that's my vacation.
chefbayardee: (clever)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-25 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Shiro. [ Hunk's tone is grave, serious. Independence from magical-political tensions is a great point, one he didn't think of, and one he'd not argue with. ]

Have I told you lately how awesome you are? Because you're really awesome. [ He grins and lets out a sigh of relief that they're on the same page. ]

So I've been thinking. [ More like anxiously agonizing, but those hairs are more easily split than the two hues on Shiro's head. ] Airships are really expensive, and now that I know you're here...

[ He looks hesitant, embarrassed even. ] What if we crowdsourced it? Whole greater than the sum of its parts and all that. Other people probably want one as much as I do!
spaceforged: (Have to reign in the space cats.)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-25 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Let’s keep that in mind going forward. Best to save up enough to show we’re serious about getting the ship. And it can’t hurt to build a reputation.

It will give us more of an advantage when the time comes to focus on getting it. [He is thinking far into the future. With how expensive a ship is he could easily see a coalition formed of various people to achieve it and whatever goals were associated with it.]

I already made a few allies...Have you met a man named Noctis? [He’ll have to drop Noctis a line and let him know he found at least one of his team.]

He promised to keep an eye out for any of the team. I promised to do the same for his.
chefbayardee: (happy)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-25 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Noctis, huh? Is that uh... is that a human name? [ Hunk grins, showing the lighthearted nature of the insult. It helps that he's not sure if that's a human name! ] Do you have names and descriptions for this Noctis guy's people? I think you can send them to me over this little tablet...

[ And then Hunk realized he'd been waving his arms and gesturing with a gunblade still in his hand. Oddly enough, he was pretty used to it already, and it was a far cry from the weight of his Bayard's heavy blaster. He chirps out a little "oopsie" and squeezes a series of pressure switches around the grip, sending it clacking and compressing into a smaller, more carry-safe form. ] Magitek is really cool. [ He sheathes the blade in a holster at his back, trying to get used to having so many blades on his person. ]

But me, I haven't made many allies... [ He brings his hands closer to his chest, as if his fists were about to start playing an excited patty-cake. ] I'm making friends instead! [ And he starts rubbing his hands together and cackling like some sort of mastermind of joy and mirth. Honestly, getting allies sounded like preparing for war, and he was not really about that. ]
spaceforged: (Another day goes by)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-26 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[He blinks, then he laughs. Hunk has more than a point. Friends instead of allies. He crosses his arms back over his chest and finally relaxes. It feels like they’re at the start of something all over again.] You have a point. Friends it is.

I can send you names and descriptions for Noctis and his friends. Provided the moogles don’t got on strike again. Anyway, he already has ours. But yes, he’s human.

...I think I’ve covered everything I know outside of testing these two jobs.
chefbayardee: (sad)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-27 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
[ The validation from Shiro was nice, though not unexpected. They're surviving, whatever that's going to mean for each of them. Friends or allies, they all know they're not going to pull anything off alone.

He nods at the plan to get Hunk up to speed on Noctis's group, and... does a slight double-take at the concept of a moogle strike. Strikes aren't supposed to happen more than once! But he shrugs it off, as he's learned to do with many things.

But he finds his mind veering back towards their stay in this world. How they'll be forced to learn so much and fight these terrifying monsters. ]

Shiro how, uh... how do you make this all look so easy? [ He looks to the ground, sighing. ] You're a great fighter, an ace pilot, an amazing leader, and you dropped out of the sky like it was nothing. [ He grumbles, kicking lightly at the dirt beneath his feet. ]

Me? I'm having trouble just swinging a sword. [ Which is why he's been focused on the gun part instead. ] It's a lot easier to throw myself into danger when I'm inside a heavily armored space lion.
spaceforged: (Put it back together)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-27 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[He drops his arms and closes the distance between them. There's not much he can do for their situation right now. But there's something he can do for Hunk. Mindful of his armor he reaches out to clap him on the shoulder.]

You'll get there. It's just going to take some time. ...and that was my best jump all day. You should have seen my first attempts. [He laughs, quietly and continues on,]

I didn't start out great at anything. And I didn't get here on just my own merits. I had great teachers and mentors to show me the way. ..and to level with you, having you here is making it a little easier for me to deal with all of this upheaval.

That doesn't change it's going to be a struggle. If we take this one day at a time, while being mindful of the possible future...I think you'll do far better than you think you will.
chefbayardee: (happy)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-28 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ Hunk's dejection pervades his being, and his entire frame starts to buckle under the burden- at least until Shiro's hand hits his shoulder. The words prompted a bit of a smile, but registering that continued discomfort with the Dragoon armor started to chase away the fears.

When Shiro said that having him of all people made all this easier for him, not only did he looked flattered, tears welled up in the corners of his eyes. ]

Yeah, and who knows, maybe I'll be the one saving you from danger! [ He laughed, but was completely serious, because Dragoon didn't look sturdy. It looked pointy, but... ]

Oh, and since we both have classes that use these big swords, do you wanna try and practice together? [ Hunk doesn't recall Shiro ever using a sword, which means they should be on pretty equal footing. Hopefully. ]
spaceforged: (I need another route)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-03-30 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure. [He could see Hunk saving him sometime. Dragoons are fast, powerful, but their armor was weaker. He has to pick and choose how he fights when he's serving as a Dragoon. It's worrying but he smiles anyway.] But, I've never used a two handed weapon before. We should work with practice blades first until we're sure we have the control to work with live steel.

[He looks up at the sky briefly as he calculates what weapons he does know. Hand to hand, and the Galra gladiator sword.]

I'll have to go switch before we start. ...I think we'll be about evenly matched. I'm a lot slower as a Paladin. It seems to ignore some of my own speed when I have the job equipped. [He pauses, unsure if he should voice his concern but it comes out anyway.] ...actually. Have you noticed anything strange when you equip a job? I've talked to a few people and I haven't seen a single new Dragoon get motion sick. You'd think a few of us would.

Jumps are fast and you come down just as quickly.
chefbayardee: (discomfort)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-03-31 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ Hunk lets out the smallest of squeals when Shiro agrees to sparring. The rest of the team is all so fast and he's never been good up close, so he's absolutely elated at the chance to be on another Paladin's level... maybe.

But the excitement begins to taper off as Shiro talks about the quirks of the Dragoon and Paladin jobs. Well, the excitement is still there but it takes a different, simpler form... ]

I have, actually! I still know physics and mechanics and all that, but I've only felt like Vaikunthan Magitek makes sense when Magitek Knight is active- [ His tone veers into apprehension, because he's still a bit of a hazard with it now. ] ...otherwise my hands are nothing but pinkies and I'm a hazard with that gunblade.

But Gourmand? [ The apprehension turns into full-on discomfort... ] I don't know if it made me a better cook... [ His voice hushes, still audible but nearly a whisper. ] ...but sometimes I think I'd know just how to hit something to save the cookable parts. Like a butcher.

[ The whisper fades, and Hunk just lets out an audible, concerned whine. He picked the weirdest, most upsetting asterisk possible, and he's only sometimes okay with it. ]
spaceforged: (The glow of the cities below)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-04-01 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
[That's...really disturbing. He lightly squeezes Hunk's shoulder and says in a soothing tone of voice.] Hey. We're still us. If the job gets too weird you can remove it.

...You aren't facing any of this alone. I'll be right here with you every step of the way. Whatever comes up.

[He shifts so he can look him directly in the eye. He'll have to keep a sharp eye on Hunk's progress with Gourmand. So far the jobs seem like the Lions but without sentience of their own. They give to the user and the user is granted more power and skill over time.

But they just don't know enough to fully trust anything.]
I know you're worried about it. ...we'll keep an eye on this. For now let's get started on handling two handed swords. You won't be a hazard with a sword for long.

It just takes practice. I meant it when I said you'll get there.
chefbayardee: (clever)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-04-02 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Y-yeah. [ Hunk just can't believe his luck. All those crazy missions with Team Voltron, and he ends up here and of course the Gourmand asterisk is creepy. He sure knows how to pick 'em. ] I appreciate that, Shiro. [ And he makes one heck of a note about getting rid of Gourmand if he needs to. He has Options. ]

I... [ He gains a bit more confidence in himself. ] I figure if you can get used to using that Galra-tech arm like you do, I can figure out a sword. [ He chuckles just a bit. ] But I still think I'll be slow no matter what- you, Keith, and Pidge could run circles around me any day.
spaceforged: (...well that's new.)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2018-04-03 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
All three of us have lighter weapons to deal with. Of course we'll be quicker. And fast isn't always the best.

[He claps his shoulder one more time and steps back.] Now I'll go swap jobs so we can get this practice started.

Give me five minutes and I'll be back. While I'm gone, take a few practice swings of the sword but this time feel how heavy the weapon is and how long it takes to complete your swing.
chefbayardee: (oh yeah sure no problem)

[personal profile] chefbayardee 2018-04-03 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
(ooc- Feel free to have Shiro pick up as much or little of Hunk's grumbling as you want! )

N-no problem! Take your time! [ Hunk laughs, a bit nervous and forced. Is this really happening? Is he going to spar with Shiro? Five minutes never actually means five minutes, it's always less, which tells Hunk he has to get it together, and fast.

So he starts talking to himself as soon as Shiro is out of sight. Not too loud though, he doesn't want to attract any staring. ]
Okay, yeah, this is all fine. Just in a crazy weird fantasy world with just one of my friends and no Voltron, no Lions, no Bayards, nothing.

[ He double checks his iMog Slate to triple-verify that he is using Magitek Knight. ] Of all the jobs here, I picked the one that makes me cook and eat my enemies and one that makes me use a gun-sword.

[ He strolls with all the tension of someone who has no idea what he's doing over to a barrel of training swords, and grabs two larger, two-handed ones, and returns to where he and Shiro were talking ] I could've picked the one with a real gun, but no, why would I do that?

[ Hunk drops the second sword to the ground with all the poise and grace of a wrecking ball, and starts taking some practice swings. With every exhalation, with each word getting more exasperated his swings got harder. ] They can have magic sword bullets and people can summon crazy beasts but they can't figure out how to get rid of reloading in a normal gun?! Come on, Vaikuntha, where are your priorities?

[ And then he sighs and directs all of his attention into practice swings with the sword. ]
